New York…125 representatives of the kashrus certification world, including some of the world’s major agencies participated in the annual conference of the Association of Kashrus Organizations (AKO). According to Rabbi Sholem Fishbane, AKO’s Executive Director, “it was one of best conferences as we changed the format to allow for more networking and breakout sessions.” There was a lively discussion about proposed changes in liquor approvals. The keynote address by Rabbi Noach Isaac Oelbaum captivated the assemblage with his eloquent address and message. Rabbi Oelbaum has been a leading force in Queens, NY, for the past thirty-three years, as the rabbi of Khal Nachlas Yitzchok. He focused on keeping the importance of integrity and honesty in kashrus.
